Pedro Malan

Pedro Sampaio Malan is a Brazilian economist and a former President of the Brazilian Central Bank, from September 9, 1993 to December 31, 1994.
Former Minister of Finances of Brazil, from January 1, 1995 to December 31, 2002, during the presidency of Fernando Henrique Cardoso, he was replaced by Antonio Palocci Filho. He was one of the architects of the Plano Real.
Curently he is a member of the Administration Council of the Unibanco bank (Portuguese, stands for Brazilian Banks Union), the third largest private bank in Brazil.
