Pedro Bordaberry

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pedro Bordaberry is a Uruguayan political figure.

Having served until 2005 as Tourism minister in the government of President Jorge Batlle, Bordaberry stood in that year for the mayoral elections of Montevideo, scoring 26% of the vote, but losing to Ricardo Ehrlich, of the Frente Amplio, who won with 56%.

He is a son of Juan Maria Bordaberry, President of Uruguay 1972-1976. Pedro Bordaberry's decision to seek a political base in Montevideo contrasts with his father, Juan Maria Bordaberry's long association with rural affairs.
