[edit] Welcome
Hi Peasea, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for joining the coolest online encyclopedia I know of. I hope you stick around. You'll probably find it easiest to start with a tutorial of how the wikipedia works, and you can test stuff for yourself in the sandbox. Check out the simplified ruleset. When you're contributing, you'll probably find the manual of style to be helpful, and you'll also want to remember a couple important guidelines.
- Write from a neutral point of view
- Be bold in editing pages
- Use wikiquette.
Those are probably the most important ones, and you can take a look at some others at the policies and guidelines page. You might also be interested in how to write a great article and possibly adding some images to your articles.
Be sure to get involved in the community – you can contact me on my talk page if you have any questions, and you can check out the village pump, where lots of wikipedians hang out and discuss things. If you're looking for something to do, check out the community portal. And whenever you ask a question or post something on a talk page, be sure to sign your name by typing 4 tildes like ~~~~. Always sign the talk page, never the articles.
Again, welcome! It's great to have you. Happy editing!--May the Force be with you! Shreshth91($ |-| r 3 $ |-| t |-|) 10:09, 1 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Rick W. Vanover
It may be self-promotion, but this person seems to be notable. It gets about 36,000 hits on Google, which is quite a lot. Instead of blanking an article, you should put this up for deletion by that policy. Blank articles only give headaches - a poorly designed article with a notice about the vote for deletion is much less confusing than a blank article to an outsider.
The votes are now listed here and here. x42bn6 Talk 08:45, 6 November 2005 (UTC)
- Don't worry about being new and all. I am still technically new as well. :) x42bn6 Talk 01:17, 7 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] IIPM
Hi, hope you didn't get too pissed off by any unpleasantness you encountered at the IIPM article, the user you had a run in with was Drnoamchomsky, our resident IIPMite. He's been trying to insult all who disagree with him by calling them "IIM grads and alumni", which he believes to be a great insult. So don't take anything he throws at you personally, he's like that.
And btw, you can sign your comments on Talk Pages with four tildes ("~~~~"). This will cause your name (linked to your Talk Page) and the date and time of your comment appear (as it does on my signature). --Kunal (talk) 17:31, 24 November 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks. You too are doing a good job. Just don't take anything personally. Keep your cool and we will win. -- Ravikiran 04:50, 25 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] 3rr The Indian Institute of Planning and Management
Please do not keep undoing other people's edits without discussing them first. This is considered impolite and unproductive. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia under the three-revert rule, which states that nobody may revert an article to a previous version more than three times in 24 hours. (Note: this also means editing the page to reinsert an old edit. If the effect of your actions is to revert back, it qualifies as a revert.) Thank you. --негіднийлють (Reply|Spam Me!*) 07:44, 29 November 2005 (UTC)
- Please look at your talk page for reply PeaSea 02:09, 30 November 2005 (UTC)
- This was more of a way of letting you know you were close to hitting 3rr.... I chose the wrong canned message, and for that, I apologise. Either way, you were 1 edit from hitting it, iirc, and I had wanted to let you know, in case you didn't. WP:AGF and all ;] anyhow, cheers! --негіднийлють (Reply|Spam Me!*) 05:12, 30 November 2005 (UTC)

I agree that both are not important but it looks like both will survive. If the standard for notability is so low, there is nothing we can do about except maybe remove the suspicious stuff from the article. It is paradoxical that systemic bias is invoked here - usually it is invoked in situations which are exactly the opposite.
Btw, I am from Muvattupuzha. Tintin 07:01, 6 December 2005 (UTC)
Pulikkanny is a major stop enroute Chimmony dam from Thrissur. It is a small village renowned for it's scenic beauty and village football league where six teams are fiercely competing for the league cup. It is famouse tourist attraction which attract tourists as far as france and north africa.
- Completely agree with you. While reading it again, the description looks *very* suspicious. I guess a single line saying that it is a small village in Tsr is more than enough. What do you think ?Tintin 19:23, 6 December 2005 (UTC)

- I won't go for an RfA anytime soon. Looks like there are four admins from TN, three from Maharashtra, and one each from Karnataka, Delhi and Andhra. It also explains why articles about TN and Tamil are so much better than those about Kerala and Malayalam :-( Tintin 15:18, 7 December 2005 (UTC)

- Njan ready but I am not in India now and don't any books to refer. Won't be able to do much till I go back. I guess it the same with you - how will you manage ? Tintin 23:47, 9 December 2005 (UTC)

- I am okay with it. At the moment, rather than starting new articles, there is plenty to improve in the existing ones. The language needs a drastic improvement for the majority of the articles. Tintin 00:51, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

I wd like to know on what basis deleted off the information that had been present in the page about Government Engineering College, Bartonhill, Trivandrum. As far as i know you aren't a student or a faculty member. I appreciate the fact that you took notice of the changes made, but please don't misuse of the facility provided by wiki by deleting off RELEVANT information.
So please refrain from doing so in future.
