Peau d'Âne (Donkey Skin, 1970) is a color-coded musical rendering of the famous fairy tale of the king who wished to marry his daughter, directed by Jacques Demy, and with a score by Michel Legrand. The film is a nod to Jean Cocteau and stars Jean Marais and Catherine Deneuve.
The title is taken from the classic French fairy-tale of Charles Perrault.
