From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Peakhurst West is a co-educational Public school with a current enrolment of 368 students. The school offers classes from Kindergarten to Year 6.

The student population comes mainly from the local area, though a small number travel from further afield to enjoy the wide range of learning opportunities available at the school. The most unique of these is the 25 metre heated indoor pool located on site. Students have daily access to this facility, where they develop skills in the “Swim and Survive” program, intensive swimming and school sport.

With expansive playground spaces, a covered outdoor learning area, computer room, grass netball court and multi-purpose area, the school is equipped to offer a wide range of indoor and outdoor pursuits for students to enjoy. The spacious Library doubles as a hall, where students and parents gather for performances and professional development including P & C meetings and weekly assemblies.

The school’s learning programs focus on developing the needs of all children, with support teachers to assist those experiencing difficulties and a variety of initiatives to enhance the learning of gifted and talented students. Students participate in wide range of learning activities to support syllabus outcomes - leadership courses, public speaking, debating, dance festivals and choir, to name a few.

Students, staff and the school community value the cultural diversity at Peakhurst West and are proud to be a part of the Public Education system.
