Paymate

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Paymate is an Australian online payments facilitator which started operations in October 2001. The service is similar to the U. S. based PayPal. Paymate offices are located in North Sydney, Australia. The company is owned by a private consortium of business people. The Paymate service has experienced a downturn in transactions since PayPal expanded its services into Australia. However the service is still popular with eBay users, as it is an eBay recommended payment service.

On 7 August 2002 Paymate launched Paymate Express. With the new service buyers do not need to register and the money is deposited into the seller's Australian bank account.
