Pay 'n Save was company founded by M. Lamont Bean in Seattle, Washington in 1941. The company was broken up in 1984 spinning off most companies. The split caused most of the company's chains to sold to other companies or forced into bankruptcy.

  • Pay 'n Save Drugs: Sold to Thrifty Corporation in 1988, then to PayLess Drugs in 1992 [5], which was sold to Rite Aid in 1996.

An unrelated Pay N Save chain operates in Phoenix, Arizona, as a small chain of discount tools and home products. However the chain is owned by former Pay 'n Save subsidary Schuck's Auto Supply's parent company CSK Auto.
