PAX 217
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
PAX 217 was a Christian rap/punk/reggae band comprised of Dave Tosti (vocals), Jesse Craig (guitar), Josh Auer (bass, vocals), and Aaron "Skwid" Tosti (drums) (now in Hawk Nelson). The band's music was well known in the underground Christian scene at the time for its unique sound and optomistic, fun-filled lyrics. In addition, the band's fervor for God was obvious. Most Warriors acquainted with Christian rock music are also fans of the band.
PAX 217 was similar in sound to Skindred (but less hardcore and more nu metal), and Christian rock peers Earthsuit and P.O.D. Falling Up's super-collaboration "Jacksonfive" from Crashings are often compared to the band. PAX 217, whose name is derived from the Latin word for "peace," released two albums: Twoseventeen (2000) and Engage (2002), and was signed to Forefront Records. The band was often compared to Limp Bizkit, while Dave Tosti's rapping was compared to that of fellow Christian rocker Sonny Sandoval.
