[edit] Playing career
He was a highly-rated junior star with the Calgary Hitmen of the Western Hockey League, winning numerous awards and making the all-star team of the 1999 Memorial Cup. However, Brendl's talent has not translated to stardom at the NHL level, where he has managed only 22 points in 78 career games with the Philadelphia Flyers and Carolina Hurricanes. He played the 2005-2006 season for the Phoenix Coyotes in the NHL and the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League. He currently plays for Mora IK in the Elitserien.
