Paul Woolford

Paul Matthew Woolford (born June 1, 1977 in Auckland) is a field hockey player from New Zealand, who earned his first cap for the national team, nicknamed The Black Sticks, in 1999. He won a silver medal at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester. Woodford has more than fifty caps to his name and plays national league hockey for Auckland.
Woolford has been The Kiwi's number one goalkeeper since 2002. He won 2004 New Zealand Player of the Year. His ability to put pressure on some of the best flickers in the world has earned New Zealand one of the best international defensive penalty corner records. Paul’s reactions are very quick.
