Paul Norris

Paul Norris (born April 26, 1914 in Greenville, Ohio) is an American comic book artist.
After studying at the Dayton Art Institute, Norris started working as an illustrator and cartoonist in the late 1930's for the Dayton Daily News.
In the 1940's he was already working in New York City. First at Prize Publications where he created Yank and Doodle; then at National Comics where he created Aquaman with Mort Weisinger (DC Comics recognizes Norris as the sole creator of the Aquaman character, and Norris is currently credited as such in all solo appearances of Aquaman that they publish), and worked on various other comics, including DC's Golden Age Sandman, who changed from his original double-breasted suit into more typical super-hero garb (Adventure Comics #69) during Norris's tenure on the feature.
Norris' career includes works for several comic books and syndicated daily strips, among them : Jungle Jim, Brick Bradford, Flash Gordon, Secret Agent X-9, Tarzan, Jungle Twins and Vic Jordan.
