Paul McKenna (born 20 October 1977 in Chorley) is an English professional footballer currently is in his testimonial year at Preston North End. After making his debut in 1997 his appearance tally has now passed the 350 game mark and now at 28 years old he is North End's longest serving player.

McKenna's intelligent passing and tenacious takling partnered with his incredible workrate makes him a firm favourite with both fans and players alike. He also he is a regular contender for goal of the season because although he isn't a prolific goalscorer, when he does score, it's almost certain to be a screamer!

With over 350 appearances to his name already, this diminutive midfielder is well on his way to become one of the elite players with most appearances for the club.

One of Paul's most memorable moments, both for himself and the Deepdale faithful, was scoring the winning penalty in the penalty shoot-out of the Play-Off Semi-Final second leg between Preston and Birmingham at Deepdale in 2001, which saw the Whites head to the Millennium Stadium for the first Division 1 Play-Off Final. This incidentally was the Division 1 Play-Off Final to be staged there, since the demolition of Wembley stadium.

He was voted PFA Player of the Season at the end of the 2004/05 season after 35 appearances and 3 goals. He signed a new 3 1/2 year contract November last year.
