Paul Jones (boxer)

Paul Jones (born November 19, 1966 in Sheffield, England), was a professional boxer in the super welterweight, light middle weight, middle weight, and super middle weight divisions. Known as "Silky", Jones turned pro in 1986 he then won the WBO intercontinental from Damien Denny. Next up jones then captured the WBO Light Middleweight Title in 1995 with a majority decision win over Verno Phillips. With the win, Jones became the first British-born Light Middleweight World Champion ever. He was stripped of the title, then went on to win the WBC International World Title. Jones retired in 2002 with a record of 31-12-1.
