Paul Hinojos

Paul Hinojos (born on July 17, 1975 in Los Angeles, California) was first introduced to the mainstream music scene as the bassist of the highly influential band At the Drive-In from El Paso, Texas. After At the Drive-In took an indefinite hiatus in 2001, Hinojos, along with fellow ATDI members Jim Ward and Tony Hajjar, formed the band Sparta.
In an unforeseen move, Hinojos left Sparta in 2005; he was quoted as saying, "My time with Sparta has run its course, and simply wasn't fun anymore." A few days later, it was announced that he had joined The Mars Volta, where he took up the role of 'sound manipulator' (previously occupied by Jim Ward's cousin Jeremy). He currently plays guitar on stage with The Mars Volta in addition to his sound manipulation duties and has appeared on their third album Amputechture.

- While in Sparta, he was sponsored by Bad Cat amplifiers and used Gibson guitars.
- He cites Metallica's Master of Puppets as his most important musical influence.
- While in At The Drive-In, he used Music Man bass guitars, and, on some early recordings and shows, Fender Precision basses.
- While in At The Drive-In he was known as Paul Hinojos, he now uses his legal name: Pablo Hinojos-Gonzalez.
