Paul Harrison

Paul Harrison (born 18 December 1984 in Liverpool) is an English footballer who currently plays for Southport as a goalkeeper.

He attended Liverpool's youth academy but never made a first team appearance despite appearing on the bench on several occasions. He was loaned to Leeds midway through the 2004-05 season but again did not make a first team appearance. He was released by Liverpool at the end of that season and had a short spell at Wolves before signing for Chester City. In a three month spell he made 4 appearances in the league. He joined Hereford United on non-contract terms as goalkeeping cover, and came on as a substitute against Stockport. Soon after, he left Edgar Street after the Bulls signed another goalkeeper.

He now finds himself at Southport currently as understudy to Ryan Robinson, following the departure of long-serving Steve Dickinson. It is believed that if loanee Robinson returns to Morecambe, Harrison could become number 1 at "The Port".

Paul comes from a family of dedicated Liverpool supporters. His father Stephen and uncle Gary died in the Hillsborough disaster when Paul was 4 years old. Their son and nephew's professional football career, starting at Liverpool, is perhaps a tribute to them.
