Paul Curtis

- Paul Curtis is a British-born Australian-based artist, band manager, music promoter and record label owner.

Starting with Brisbane punk stalwarts Dreamkillers in the early 1990s, Curtis went on to manage a collection of young Brisbane bands that collaborated with each other in a loose network. One of these was Pangaea, whose bass player Ben Ely's side project would take off within a few months of forming. The band was Regurgitator. The band and Curtis remain incredibly close even after 13 years of working together. In the early 1990s, Curtis also managed and became involved with another Warner artist, Kiley Gaffney, with whom he has two children. Recently, Curtis has begun to work with the young three-piece I Heart Hiroshima.
The management company has also toured a range of international artists in Australia/New Zealand over the last ten years, such as: Chicks on Speed, Kid606, The Boredoms, Ratatat, Peaches, Gonzalez, Feist, Audioactive, Zoobombs, Gang of Four and Afra.

Curtis started and runs Valve Records, which releases artists from Australia and overseas.

Curtis is also a celebrated poster artist, producing most of the artwork for his tours. Some of his work was recently published in the book Plastered.
[edit] Band in a Bubble
Curtis came up with the idea for the now international multimedia concept Band in a Bubble in 1999 but it did not become a reality until 2004. Realized in Melbourne's Federation Square with Regurgitator as the band in the bubble, the project will take place in London in 2007.
