Paul Bowser

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Paul Bowser was a successful professional wrestling promoter who was active from the 1920s to the 1950s in the Boston area. His promotion, the American Wrestling Association (not related to Verne Gagne's AWA), contested an earlier version of the AWA World Heavyweight Title.

Bowser was well known for running shows in Boston Garden that would attract sold out crowds. He also ran shows at Fenway Park that would attract crowds of 25,000 to 30,000 people.

Like many promoters, Bowser started out as a wrestler himself, winning a version of the World Middleweight Championship in 1922.
