Paul Boertien (born January 20, 1979 in Haltwhistle, Northumberland, England) is an English footballer who has played for four English clubs. He currently plays for Derby County in Football League Championship.

Boertien began his career in Carlisle United in August 1996. His first league game for Carlisle United was against Walsall on October 4, 1997, while his first goal for the club from Cumbria came against Swansea City on February 13, 1999.

In March 1999 Derby County bought Paul Boertien for £250 000 and his first match for Derby was against Chelsea on May 16, 1999. He scored his first goal for Derby on April 16, 2001 when Derby won 2-0 against Leicester City in a Premier League game. In 2000 Boertien was on loan to Crewe Alexandra and in 2004 he was on loan to Notts County.
