Paul-Henri DuBerger
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Paul-Henri DuBerger is a contemporary Canadian impressionist painter.
DuBerger, born in Matane, Quebec and residing in Quebec City, was born on October 8th 1939. Parallel to his academic career at Université Laval he developed a vital interest in painting.
Starting with just a few sketches, DuBerger quickly improved his techniques, focussing on impressionist painting. While attending several workshops he got the opportunity to meet Emile A. Gruppé, an American master of the School of Impressionism of Gloucester.
Gruppé agreed to provide valuable knowledge and his influence becomes obvious when viewing Paul-Henri DuBergers paintings today. Nevertheless, DuBerger managed to develop his very own, individual style of painting.
DuBerger, meanwhile retired, today enjoys his freedom to paint in his private studio as well as many outside locations.
