[edit] Patti as a Professor

Adler's somewhat controversial lecture topics are not only pertinent to her curriculum, but are also perfect examples of the larger social phenomenon that she aims to teach about. Her lectures are often filled with comic personal stories, and it is rare if a lecture passes without the entire class bursting into laughter. Her charisma alone can speak to her excellence, but it doesn't stop there. In a lecture hall with upward of 450 people, Patti is able to take a potentially impersonal setting and make it surprisingly intimate. Ultimately not only has she made huge and lasting contributions to the Sociological world, but she also has a great impact on whoever she teaches.

[edit] Background

Adler is the sister of actress Kyra Sedgwick.
