Patterson Springs is a town in Cleveland County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 620 at the 2000 census.

Patterson Springs is located at 35°13′50″N, 81°31′4″W (35.230506, -81.517759)GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 2.4 km² (0.9 mi²), all land.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 620 people, 254 households, and 169 families residing in the town. The population density was 263.1/km² (682.1/mi²). There were 272 housing units at an average density of 115.4/km² (299.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the town was 95.48% White, 3.23% African American, 0.16% Native American, and 1.13% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.81% of the population.

There were 254 households out of which 32.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.8% were married couples living together, 8.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.1% were non-families. 24.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.44 and the average family size was 2.95.

In the town the population was spread out with 24.4% under the age of 18, 9.0% from 18 to 24, 33.5% from 25 to 44, 24.4% from 45 to 64, and 8.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females there were 104.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 113.2 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $32,368, and the median income for a family was $34,500. Males had a median income of $31,591 versus $25,577 for females. The per capita income for the town was $15,092. About 10.4% of families and 16.5% of the population were below the poverty line, including 22.2% of those under age 18 and 2.6% of those age 65 or over.

Stephen Colbert occasionally jokes about having started at a news station in Patterson Springs, although the lack of a news station makes that impossible. However, Patterson Springs is not short of their own famous individuals, as the lead of the popular "To The Face" enterprise, Jerrod Lankford, resides here, and his home is often used as the "To The Face" headquarters by he and his associates, Jonathan Callahan, Scott Wright, and Mike Duncan.
