Patrick O'Connor

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Patrick J. O'Connor is a long-serving alderman in Chicago's City Council. O'Connor represents the 40th Ward on the North Side. Like the majority of the members of the City Council, he is a member of the Democratic Party.

Highly influential in local government, he has used tax increment financing to create a library and a police station in Lincoln Bend/Budlong Woods on Lincoln Avenue, and helped get a fountain in Lincoln Square. The library and the police station replaced several motels that were centers for drugs, crime and prostitution, thus causing a significant decrease in crimes in the ward and stabilizing the Lincoln Bend neighborhood.

He is married to Barbara O'Connor, a real estate broker.
