Author of TokyoScope: The Japanese Cult Film Companion and co-author of Cruising the Anime City: An Otaku Guide to Neo-Tokyo, his writing is also featured in Fresh Pulp, Japan Edge, and various magazines and newspapers. (Animerica and Chicago Sun-Times, for instance). He was born in Sacramento, CA in 1972, and currently lives and works in Tokyo, Japan.
