Patrick Collins (footballer)

Patrick Collins is a footballer currently playing for League Two Darlington. He signed for the club in the summer of 2006 upon his release from Championship side Sheffield Wednesday. As a youngster Collins started at Sunderland AFC before being signed by Wednesday in the summer of 2004 after being released by the Black Cats. He made an appearance in the Owls' playoff final victory over Hartlepool United. He was loaned out to Swindon Town at the start of the 2005-06 season and briefly returned to Hillsborough towards the end of the season, moving from his right-back position to a new role in central midfield. At the end of the season Collins was told that he could leave Hillsborough by manager Paul Sturrock.

He has represented England at Under-20 level.
