Patiala District

Patiala District is one of the ninteendistricts in the state of Punjab in North-West India.

Patiala District lies between 29 49’ and 30 47’ north latitude, 75 58’ and 76 54' east longitude, in the southeast part of the state. It is surrounded by Fatehgarh Sahib and Rupnagar districts and the Union Territory of Chandigarh to the north, Fatehgarh Sahib and Sangrur districts to the west, Ambala and Kurukshetra districts of neighbouring Haryana state to the east, and Kaithal District of Haryana to the south west.

Patiala is land of Maharajas (Kings). It has one medical college, one dental college, engineering college and famous PUNJABI university is also there. A hub for students from all over Punjab. It has rich Punjabi culture. There is a famous Gurudwara DUKHNIWARAN Sahib. It has famous market AC Market. Patiala has many historical princely buildings which have been turned into national museums or government offices. The city is also known as 'City Of Fountains.' The city has a very famous garden known as 'Baradari Garden' located in the heart of the city.Mini sectrat is also situated in patiala.now there are big shopping complexes.
