Patcham High School is one of nine secondary schools in Brighton, located in the village of Patcham. It has around 1,000 pupils. The current head teacher is Mrs P. Sargent. [1] [2]
The school was founded on 7 July 1990, when Margaret Hardy school for girls and Patcham Fawcett school for boys were combined. The school is located on Ladies Mile Road in Patcham.
Patcham High School was created from the last two single sex schools in Brighton, and serves the north of Brighton, situated next to the South Downs. The new logo is that of the Chattri, an Indian War Memorial. The logo was changed, along with the uniform, in 2006. The previous logo represented a rainbow (the arch being a repeated architectural feature in the school building). Tutor groups are named after the colours of the rainbow (R-Y-G-B-O-V-I), with the exception of T for Turquoise.
