Pat McBride was an American soccer player and soccer coach from St. Louis, MO.
He was an All-American at St. Louis University. After graduating in 1967, he joined the Saint Louis Stars . He remained with this team until 1975 and was one of the first outstanding native U.S. soccer players of the modern era. The Stars played in both the National Professional Soccer League (NPSL) and the North American Soccer League (NASL).
He not only had a succesful professional career, but also played for the United States men's national soccer team. He made his national team debut in 1969 and went on to earn 5 caps. He also played for the U.S. Olympic Team.
After retiring as a player, Pat went on to coach the St. Louis Steamers and the Kansas City Comets of the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL).
He is inducted into the U.S. National Soccer Hall of Fame in 1994.
