Pat Broeker was a high-ranking member of the Church of Scientology. Some high-ranking, former-members of the cult have claimed that L. Ron Hubbard penned a memo in which he specified that Broeker should succeed him has the head of Church following his death. [1] At the January 27, 1986 ceremony where it was announced that Hubbard had "causatively ... discarded the body" (died), current Scientology president David Miscavige introduced Broeker and his wife Annie as Hubbard's "two most trusted friends and companions".[1] Later, however, Miscavige claimed that the memo was a forgery, and assumed the leadership position himself.
