Paspalum is a genus of the grass family, Poaceae. It includes Bahia grass (Paspalum notatum), the food grain Koda millet (Paspalum scorbiculatum) and a warm season turfgrass (Paspalum vaginatum), which is sometimes used as an alternative for bermudagrass. Many golf courses in Southwest Florida are replacing Bermuda grass with Paspalum because of its salt tolerance and saline grey water irrigation tolerance.
