Pascal Clément

Pascal Clément (born 12 May 1945) is a French politician. He has been the French Minister of Justice since 2005. Born in Boulogne-Billancourt, he is a barrister by training.

Clément has been a Member of the French National Assembly since 1978, representing the Loire. From 1977 to 2001, he was Mayor of Saint-Marcel-de-Felines and from 1993 to 1995 was Minister-Delegate for Parliamentary Relations. Clément succeeded Dominique Perben as Justice Minister on 2 June 2005. Previous to this he was Chairman of the National Assembly's Justice Committee.
