[edit] Your posts on the Islamic conquest

1, you need to stop referencing outdated and false AIT theories in which the "Aryans" subjugated the Sudras or Dravidians or such nonsense. Read the articles on the Aryans and the Aryan migration theory as well as the out of india theory.

Two, the forerrunners of your faith massacred Hindus like Farmers massacre cattle. Timur massacred 100,000 Hindus. NAdir Shah massacred 17,000 Hindus. THe Khiljis burned Nalanda to the ground and massacred all of the Buddhists inside.

Where is the proof of upper caste "Aryans" massacaring 100,000 Dalits or "Dravidians"? Please show me. Please PROVE how Hindus were better off under the rule of foreign Muslims as opposed to the rule of Hindus themselves? Please prove how the Muslims werent more hostile to non-Muslims in general then the Brahmins were to Sudras or "Dravidians"?

[edit] Who art thou ?!

I have the same question as PassionInfinity. A bit confused because this seems to be your userpage but you still sign as Salma. Tintin 17:21, 18 November 2005 (UTC)

Response: I'm still the same Salma but I just adopted a new nickname.

[edit] SM Hadi in the Olympics

Salma, I found two mentions of a Subimal Hadi who represented India in tennis doubles in the 1924 Olympics and lost in the quarter finals - in this link and in 'The Complete Book of the Olympics' by David Wallechinsky. Do you know if this was your grandfather, because Subimal sounds like a Bengali name ? Tintin (talk) 07:48, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Please stop adding recipes to Wikipedia

Hello Salmaakbar. Thank you for your most recent contributions, namely a large set of recipes. Unfortunately these are not appropriate for Wikipedia, and will need to be deleted. You may wish to check out our sister site, Wikibooks, where this type of content would be more appropriate, specifically the Wikimedia Cookbook project. Thanks! Can't sleep, clown will eat me 03:06, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

Sure. I did'nt know they were not supposed to be there. Parihan 03:11, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Recipes

I didn't mean to offend, but you were posting so many.... It would really help if you would just cut/paste them to Wikibooks yourself and then nominate them to AfD. For someone other than the author to do it is a pain in the butt. And yes, I realized you were a girl after I had already wrote to the admin. Sorry. :P --Bayyoc 03:51, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

Don't send them to AfD, speedy them with {{db-author}} instead after you have cut and pasted them to the Wikibooks Cookbook. They don't need to go AfD because as the creator of the articles you can speedy them yourslef. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 04:33, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Netpari/Parihan/Salmaakbar

I seem to have stumbled into some controversy here. I don't understand that if what is now my page was yours, how the system let me create that user name. I also don't understand whether your user name is "Parihan" or "Salmaakbar". If you think I am rude, then I am sorry. I can choose another user name if I "elbowed" you out of mine, but I don't understand that if you were using it "for months" how it wasn't reserved to you. Is there a bug in the software here? If so, I will give up the name. -- Netpari 06:12, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Our Philosophy

Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles. If you do not believe the article deserves to be deleted, then please place {{hangon}} on the page and make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. Vegaswikian 05:25, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Falsafatuna

Falsafatuna by Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr has been translated into an English book called Our Philosophy.
The Introduction of the book talks about the four major social schools of thought -- capitalism, communism and socialism, and Islam. According to Sadr, the capitalist system is "devoid of the philosophy on which every social system must rest...it is a materialistic ststem, even though it is not based on a clearly outlined materialistic philosophy."(10) Capitalism creates big producers who are constantly in need of larger markets and new countries to sell their products to. The individual feels responsible only for himself and feels like "he is in a constant fight, equipped with no weapons other than his personal powers, and provided with no purposes rather than his personal interests."(14) Sadr then attempts to explain the philosophy and flaws of the Marxist school of thought. He feels that Marx approached society through a materialistic perspective and sought to solve the problem of injust distribution of wealth by reconstructing society on socialist lines. Sadr says that it created a society where there was no motivation for the individual to work harder than needed and the "communist economy clashed with actual human nature". (16) Sadr then explains how Islam reconciles the personal motivations of the human being with social interests by creating morality and ethics. Human beings keep these values in mind and are "expected to evaluate all the steps they take....[according to] the satisfaction of God".(27)
The first part of the book elaborates on The Theory of Knowledge. The first chapter explains the source of human knowledge. Sadr explains the Platonic doctrine of recollection, the theory of Rationalism, the theory of Empiricism, and finally the Islamic Dispossession Theory. Sadr refutes the Platonic doctrine on the basis that the link between the prior existing soul and the body is not justified. He supports Rationalism and says that "innate ideas exist in the soul potentially, and that they acquire the quality of being actual by the development and mental integration of the soul."(43) Sadr states that Empiricism does not provide a logical explanation for causality and philosphers such as George Berkeley and David Hume were unable to provide sufficient explanations for causality solely on the basis of sense perception. Sadr then explains the stance of the Positivist school of philosophy and labels it as an extension of the Empirical school that refutes philosophical propositions calling them "meaningless" because they are not subject to sense experience and realted to what is beyond nature (68). He explains that in this endevour the positivists contradict themselves by borrowing a metaphyical notion to destroy the idea of metaphysics.(69) Sadr admits towards the end of the chapter that "[rationalist] philosophy assists the emperical method in science by means of rational principles and rules which the scientist employs for the purpose of moving from direct experience to a general scientific law".(71)
(..to be continued)

There! This should be safe here for a while!! Parihan 00:44, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Falsafatuna

Well, in the future you should probably start by choosing a better-known subject. For example, I picked Keuffel and Esser because it's a well-known slide rule manufacturer. As for the article as it is now, you should probably try to establish some sort of notability. What I mean is, why does Falsafatuna deserve an article in this encyclopedia? Is it more popular in its original language? Did it spark widespread controversy in non-English-speaking countries? You have to remember that this an English Wikipedia, so users might not speak other languages and may therefore assume that articles written about foreign-language topics are non-notable. Hope this helps. --M1ss1ontomars2k4 | T | C | @ 00:53, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
