The Real World: Paris
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Real World: Paris was the thirteenth season of MTV's popular reality television series The Real World, which follows the lives of seven diverse strangers living together for several months in a different city each season, as cameras follow their lives and interpersonal relationships. First airing in 2003, the Paris season followed the cast as they lived in the Paris suburb of Le VĂ©sinet. This season marked the first and only time that a season of The Real World was set in a country where English is not the primary language, and was only the second time that a season had been filmed outside of the United States after The Real World: London in 1995.
[edit] Assignment
Every season of the The Real World, beginning with its fifth season, has included the assignment of a season-long group job or task to the housemates. The Paris cast was given the job of working as reviewers for a tourist guide called Frommers, for which they were employed to write reviews of various Paris bars, clubs and other attractions. A weekly bonus would be given to the housemates if they all completed their weekly assignments, though they rarely accomplished this. Two of the castmates, in fact, Chris "CT" Tamburello and Leah Gillingwater, were caught submitting fake reviews. The housemates' reviews were never published, although some were available on Frommers' website at http://www.frommers.com/realworld/.

Adam King (b. June 23, 1979 in Beverly Hills, California) hails from Beverly Hills, CA. His father, William King, was in the 70's R&B group The Commodores and was always out touring while his mother was at home caring for the family. He's a graduate of Stanford University, having majored in communications, and as an aspiring musician, enjoys rapping and writing lyrics. He is fluent in French, which helps him socialize with women in France. He is initially attracted to Mallory, though she does not reciprocate. He is currently living in Hawaii.
Chris "CT" Tamburello (b. July 16, 1980 in Brooklyn, New York) is from suburban Boston, Massachusetts and is often the end of everyone's anger. He manages to get in fights with Adam, Christina and Leah and creates overall tension in the house. CT and Christina do have a flirtatious relationship at one point but it never comes into fruition. CT's confidence borderlines on cockiness which doesn't bode well with the other roommates.
Christina Trainor (b. November 28, 1978 in Las Vegas, Nevada) is from Las Vegas, Nevada. She is a criminal justice major at The University of Nevada. She is half Korean and half German. She has breast implants. She likes to party and flirt, but has a serious side too. She gets the attention of her male roommates CT and Ace, but nothing ever comes of it. She later becomes close friends with Mallory, Leah and Simon.
Leah Gillingwater (b. August 21, 1980 in Glen Cove, New York) is a Long Island, New York native. She aspires for a fashion career in New York and looks for the finer things in life - namebrands and expensive cars. She admits to at one time only dating men who drove expensive cars. Leah is first attracted to Ace, but nothing materalizes between the two, as he does not reciprocate. Leah can be loud and pugnacious, and lands in fights with most of her roommates. Leah and Mallory click at first, but later Leah and her friendship seems to crumble, the height of their animosity comes to a head on their trip to Italy. Leah has a cancer scare though, which brings her close to Mallory and the rest of her roommates.
Mallory Snyder (b. January 7, 1984 in Palatine, Illinois) is a nineteen-year-old virgin who gave up her soccer scholarship at Iowa State University in order to appear on the show. Mallory's model looks gain the attention of the males in the house - especially Adam and Ace, who she later dates, though she hides the relationship off-camera. She enjoys drinking. Despite her lack of style and distaste of fancy and uncomfortable clothes, Mallory later becomes a model.
Simon Sherry-Wood (b. November 7, 1984 in Dublin, Ireland) is a native of Ireland and is openly gay. His family accepts his sexuality, and has enjoyed the gay night life for a long time. Simon has a boyfriend in Spain and intends to stay faithful. He is also a model and has a love for fashion.
