Talk:Paradise, Nevada

The township was created primarily to prevent the City of Las Vegas from annexing the Strip.
Hmm ... who created it, and why didn't they want the area to be part of Las Vegas proper? --Jfruh 20:30, 30 August 2005 (UTC)
- Conventional wisdom is that the casino owners didn't want to be part of the city's tax base, but I'm looking for a source, now... -Satori (talk) 20:42, 30 August 2005 (UTC)
The admin Lucky 6.9 and user 89020 both seem to agree that making mention of a major business is self-promotion on my part, even though the only connection I have to the law firm of Jones Vargas is I live in the same metropolitan area. This seems to be a case of not knowing who this company is. The law firm is powerful and influential, and as the sole legal counsel of companies like Ford Motor Company and nVidia Corporation, it is not a small two-bit ambulance chaser firm. I feel it deserves mention as being located here, as the firm houses a number of pretty prominent people, ranging from Joe W. Brown, a member of the Nevada Athletic Commission to former Governor of Nevada Bob Miller. It is a significant company and I feel it should be mentioned. --Visual77 03:08, 5 December 2005 (UTC)
