[edit] Comments
- In all of the above cases, except for "Independent Women," the "Part II" version was more successful than the original.
- The only "Part I" songs that were released as singles and music videos were "No, No, No" (Part I), "Independent Women" (Part I) and "I Need A Girl" (Part I).
- "Independent Women" (Part II) was never officially released or promoted as a single and no music video for that version exists. The song only eventually appeared on Destiny's Child's remix album, more than a year after "Independent Women" (Part I) had had its success. The "Part I" version in the one that was played on the radio, that was used in the "Independent Women" music video, and was featured in the movie Charlie's Angels and on its soundtrack.
In 2002, underground Canadian rapper, k-os, spoofed the mainstream rap craze of making "Part I" and "Part II" (and in some cases "Part III") remixes of songs by entitling his single, "Superstarr Pt Zero".
