Parrs Wood

Parrs Wood is an area in South Manchester, South East of Didsbury, at one end of Wilmslow Road.

Historically, the land that comprises Parrs Wood was the estate of the Parrs family. The family home - Parrs Wood House - survives as a Grade I listed building, and lies within the grounds of the modern Parrs Wood Technology and Performing Arts College.

Parrs Wood is home to Parrs Wood Technology College and Sixth Form Centre, a Tesco supermarket, and Parrs Wood Entertainment Centre.
Parrs Wood used to be home to the Parrs Wood Rural Studies Centre, but the land which this stood on was traded to the company who built the Entertainment Centre, in exchange for them building new premises for the High School. Attractions and businesses in the Entertainment Centre include a Megabowl, Cineworld Cinema, Burger King, Buckingham Bingo, Holmes Place, Nando's, Chiquito, Pizza Hut, Wimpy Burger, Laser Quest and American Pool and Arcade.
