Parramatta Power

Parramatta Power were a football (soccer) team which played in Western Sydney. They played in the National Soccer League until the league folded in 2004. They were runners up to Perth Glory in the 2003-4 season of the NSL. The club has since folded due to financial difficaulties.

The club was backed by the Parramatta Leagues club which also owns the Parramatta Eels rugby league team. The club played at Parramatta Stadium (the home of the Parramatta Eels) and played in blue and yellow (the Eels colours). The club suffered from poor attendances throughout its existence, and it was conjectured that the close links with the rugby league team deterred fans of other rugby league teams from supporting Parramatta Power. Carlton S.C. suffered similar problems due to its ties with the Carlton Australian rules football club.

Bay 41 was the official supporters club for Parramatta Power. This group of Friendly, yet admittedly “drunken louts” was present during every single home game and followed the Power during their away games, often traveling in the poorest of conditions, their spirits never wavering the group would sing loud during the entirety of every game. The Group enjoyed pseudo fame when they where mentioned on the now canceled Australian television program "Monday Dump" when the host joked that "Thirty people turned up to see Parramatta play; we would like to thank Bay-41 for providing 29 of them."
