Paromita Chatterjee

Paromita Chatterjee was previously an anchor of CNBC-TV18, an Indian channel which is a partnership between the popular TV channel CNBC of USA and TV-18, which is a content production company, based in New Delhi. Now, Even though she works for TV-18, she now appears in another TV channel called CNN-IBN which is also co-owned by TV-18. Since Paromita is a popular anchor, she has been moved from CNBC's Indian channel to CNN's Indian edition because CNN-IBN is a mass market channel and CNN-IBN is more of a bigger money spinner than CNBC-TV18.

She was born in the Indian city of Kolkata and now lives in New Delhi where CNBC-TV18 studio is based. Previously, she appeared for shows like Bazaar and India market wrap. More recently she appeared on the Reporter's diary in 2.00 p.m. IST and Business lunch 1.00 p.m. IST. Now, she appears on Good afternoon India on CNN-IBN at 1.00 p.m. to 2.00 p.m.. Apart from anchoring television news programs, Paromita also moderates special events, talk shows and events. She has studied Economics (bachelors) in Lady Shri Ram College for Women in New Delhi and has done a Masters degree in film and television production in Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi. She is also a producer apart from an anchor. She is proficient in several languages, she speaks fluent Bengali, Hindi, Oriya, French and Indonesian. She is married, but nothing is known about her husband. Her age would be between 25 and 30.
