Parker Ranch

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Parker Ranch is a working cattle ranch on the Island of Hawaii in the state of Hawaii. It is now a charitable trust. The ranch began operations in the 1840s and is the oldest ranch operating in the United States. Ranching practices at the Parker Ranch pre-date mainland ranches in Texas and other southwestern states by more than 30 years.

A cowboy on the ranch is called a paniolo.

It was used as a United States Marine Corps training base during World War II.
