Parkano is a town and municipality in Finland.

It is located 84 km north of Tampere in the province of Western Finland, and is part of the Pirkanmaa region. The municipality has a population of 7,499 (2003) and covers an area of 910.17 km², of which 55.00 km² is water. The population density is 8.8 inhabitants per km².

The municipality is unilingually Finnish.

The most famous person to live in Parkano is probably "the baron of Parkano", Gustav Wrede af Elimä.
