Paras, Nuevo León

Paras, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, lies about an 45 minutes southwest of the Falcon Heights border. It is a town that carries a sentimental value in the hearts of all those whose parents and grandparents were born there. People from all over the United States visit Paras throughout the year, especially during the Christmas holidays. Semana Santa is another time of the year when Paras is heavily populated. The town is visited by many people who live in Houston, Chicago, Detroit, and the Rio Grande Valley area in Texas.

There is a tremendous rivalry over American sports teams among Paras locals. Houstonians and Chicagoans are considered to be the biggest braggarts for their respective cities. Therefore, a huge amount of hype was created in Paras by the 2005 World Series games between the Chicago White Sox and the Houston Astros.
