Parangdo(波浪島,파랑도) or Parang Island can refer to:

  • An island of uncertain location claimed by South Korea in 1951, along with Dokdo, Jeju and other islands; see Rusk documents. When the San Francisco peace conference was held, Korean Ambassador Yu Chan Yang (梁裕燦,량유찬) requested of the U.S. Secretary of State that the island be included in the abandoned territory of Japan.[1] When asked about where Parangdo and Dokdo were located, the First Secretary of the Korean embassy Pyo Wook Han replied that they were located in the Sea of Japan near Ulleungdo. South Korea later withdrew the claim.[2] Possibly, Argonaut Island claimed by James Colnett in 1789.
