Paradise Comics
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Paradise Comics is the name of a comic book store located in Toronto, Canada. The owner and proprietor is Peter Dixon. The store's manager is long time comic book guru Doug Simpson. Paradise Comics is known primarily as being an excellent source of silver age, 1970s, 1980s and CGC graded comics. Paradise Comics is a leading seller of CGC Signature Series (signed and graded) comic books.
A branch of Paradise Comics, Paradise Conventions has been putting on one-day comic book conventions in Toronto since the early 1990s. During the late 1990s the company was called Tempest Promotions, but was renamed in late 2002 to prepare for the company's transition from promoting one day flea market style comic book conventions to launching the full-fledged 3-day Toronto Comicon event in late 2003. In 2005 the convention was officially renamed the Paradise Comics Toronto Comicon to avoid confusion with a similarly named event being promoted by a local marketing company.
The Convention is held at the National Trade Centre, located at Exhibition Place (home of the historic Canadian National Exhibition).
The store Paradise Comics is located at 3278 Yonge Street in Toronto.
