Panoramio
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Panoramio is a free image hosting site that directly links photos to the place where they were taken; it can also send direct feeds to Google Earth so you can see with the Google Earth KML plugin from Panoramio an icon of the photos uploaded in a region.

[edit] Idea
The idea of Panoramio is that every photo is linked with the place where it was taken, both physically and in your memory. Panoramio helps to link photos and places with the help of Google Maps. Because photos are linked to the places you will never forget the name and location of the places you visited. Also you don't need to explain to your friends where you took your photos.
[edit] Founders
Joaquin Cuenca and Eduardo Manchón of Spain, two friends since secondary school, are the founders of Panoramio.
[edit] Photos
In Panoramio there are thousands of photos sent by people, so you can explore how things really look like at the place you are interested in. Many beautiful photos, but not postcard ones, just photos taken by common people, nothing hid. If photos are missing for one's favorite places (hometown, vacation spot ect), one can just upload photos to add to the collection.
