Panic in Detroit

"Panic in Detroit" is a song written by David Bowie for the album Aladdin Sane in 1973. It was based on Bowie's long time friend Iggy Pop's observations of the 12th Street Riot in Detroit in 1967.

- A live version recorded July 14th, 1974, was released as the B-side of the single "Knock on Wood" in 1974. The same version was also released as the B-side of the single "Rock 'n' Roll With Me" in 1974 and on the Rare album in 1983.

- It was released as the B-side of the Japan release of the single "Time" in April 1973.
- It was released as picture discs in both the RCA Life Time picture disc set and the Fashion Picture Disc Set.
- It also appeared in the Sound + Vision box set (1989).
- A new version recorded in 1979 was released as a bonus track on the Rykodisc CD release of Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps) in 1992.
- Rare version/Outtake of the song on bonus disc of Heathen (Limited Edition deluxe package)
