Panbabylonism
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Panbabylonism is a school of thought within Assyriology and Religious studies that considers the Hebrew Bible and Judaism as directly derived from Babylonian culture and mythology. It was popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, advocated notably by Alfred Jeremias, but is now viewed much more reservedly by mainstream academia, its more extreme forms even qualified as pseudoscience.
