Pamela Ramcier

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pamela Ramcier was the '4th member' of 'Guantanamera' hitmaking group, The Sandpipers. Although not listed in the credits of any of their albums, Miss Ramcier both recorded and performed with the group, providing "Lyricless vocals" as a kind of orchestral accompaniment.

Exactly why she was sidelined by the rest of the group may never be known, but there can be little doubt that their decision to have her standing in the shadows during their live performances backfired badly with probably most, if not all, of the masculine contingent of the audience staining their eyes to see who was the chick in the miniskirt and Nancy Sinatra boots. Early theories that Pamela might not be photogenic enough were quickly squashed when photographs appeared, and it must be assumed that the founder members of The Sandpipers simply didn't see her as a proper member of the group.

Nowadays, however, most personnel lists of the group show Pamela Ramcier as a member, and recently, thanks in part to an almost obsessive fan who has posted the same review to every review website he can find (He basically wants to know 'Is the blonde girl on the cover of 'The Sandpipers' album Pamela Ramcier?') Pamela Ramcier is now almost as well known as the group.

Someone by the name of Pamela Ramcier, presumably the same person, had an album released in Korea. [1] Unfortunately it has now been deleted and unless someone finds a copy somewhere this disc will remain one more mystery in the life of Pamela Ramcier.
