In addition, three high school students are appointed as student board members. For the school year 2006-07, they are Kristen Hunter, Randy Lair and David Lluncor. Past student board members have included three children of current board member Ginny Snider. The PVPUSD serves the cities of Palos Verdes Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, and Rolling Hills Estates.
The school district has one of the highest rated API scores in California [1] , and has one of the highest average SAT scores [2] and one of the highest percentage of students successfully completing the Advanced Placement exams [3] in the country. There are two high schools, Palos Verdes Peninsula High School (formerly called Rolling Hills High School) and Palos Verdes High School (the latter located just a half block from the Pacific Ocean).
