Palmyra is a village in Otoe County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 546 at the 2000 census.

Palmyra is located at 40°42′17″N, 96°23′29″W (40.704826, -96.391367)GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.9 km² (0.3 mi²), all land.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 546 people, 209 households, and 150 families residing in the village. The population density was 620.0/km² (1,597.8/mi²). There were 225 housing units at an average density of 255.5/km² (658.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the village was 98.72% White, 0.18% African American, 0.18% from other races, and 0.92% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.83% of the population.

There were 209 households out of which 45.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.4% were married couples living together, 10.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.8% were non-families. 24.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.61 and the average family size was 3.13.

In the village the population was spread out with 31.0% under the age of 18, 6.6% from 18 to 24, 30.6% from 25 to 44, 22.5% from 45 to 64, and 9.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females there were 107.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 103.8 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $39,773, and the median income for a family was $47,083. Males had a median income of $31,607 versus $24,500 for females. The per capita income for the village was $16,632. About 6.2% of families and 5.8% of the population were below the poverty line, including 10.8% of those under age 18 and none of those age 65 or over.
