Palmer Road Community Center

Palmer Road Community Center (est. 2004) is a recreational building located on Palmer Road (Hwy 155), near Tignish, Prince Edward Island, Canada. According to its staff, the community center serves the local St. Louis and Tignish area, and holds wedding receptions, dances, and other festivities. It also hosts post-funeral gatherings, especially if the funeral is located at the Immaculate Conception Church next door. Similar centers exists both in nearby St. Louis, and in Tignish (known as the "Parish" Center). A former center was in its place from 1960 to 2004, known as the CAP center.

Palmer Road Community Center lies between the two larger community centers of Tignish and St. Louis, and services many of the communities in this area. Though most festivities are held by locals in the St. Louis area due to Palmer Road's closer proximity to St. Louis, many from Tignish and area as well as Ascension and Harper Road attend the community center.

[edit] Directions to the Palmer Road Community Center
[edit] From Summerside / off–Island
- Find Hwy 2 and head northwest on said road for approx. 90+ miles.
- At four-way intersection of Hwy 2 (continues north) and Hwy 152 (diverges southwest and southeast), turn left (southwest).
- Continue on Hwy 152 for 3-4 miles. Turn right (north) onto Hwy 155 and drive for 2 miles.
- Arrive at the Palmer Road Community Center.

- Find Highway 2 in Tignish, known as Phillip Street. Head west on said road.
- Turn right (southwest) on Hwy 158 (Harper Rd) and travel for 4 miles.
- Merge left (southwest) on Hwy 156 (Palmer Rd) and travel less than ¼ mile to a 4-way intersection.
- Turn left and then a quick right into the Palmer Road Community Center parking lot.
