Palkar is the last name of certain Maharashtrians who belong to the sub-sect Chandraseniya Kayastha Prabhu (C.K.P) or Marathas. The name was taken by the C.K.P people who originally lived in the village "Pali" in Maharashtra. People of this last name currently reside mainly in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.

Palkar also stands for a Sourashtra language.
